What is the
Mentorship Program

Our Mentorship Program connects you with an experienced student or professional mentor to guide you on your PM journey. Through one-on-one meetings, mentorship-exclusive workshops, office tours, and more, you'll gain personalized support, industry insights, and valuable connections to help you succeed.

Two Tracks

Intro

The Intro track is catered to young professionals in the early stages of their careers who want to take their first step into the world of PM. Intro Mentees are paired one-to-one with a Senior PMC E-Board member to learn about the fundamentals of PM and prepare them for their professional careers.

Advanced

The Advanced track is intended for those in the late/recruiting stages of their PM career. Advanced Mentees are paired one-to-one with a full-time Product Manager from one of several professional industries from whom you will receive direct guidance on PM recruiting.

What to expect

  • Exclusive access to mentorship-only events, including workshop, professional Q&A sessions, and interview prep
  • A new friend — a mentor you can turn to for career advice and support
  • The confidence and candor to network with any prospective employer
  • A professional resume catered to your industry of interest

Requirements

  • Candidates are expected to attend mentorship-exclusive events, including networking sessions and professional workshops, across the semester. We will plan these out based on your availability.
  • You will be meeting with your assigned mentor at least once every two weeks under your own discretion, with at least one meeting in-person.
  • You will be provided a guided syllabus tailored to your chosen track, helping you structure and maximize your mentorship meetings.

FAQs

Answers to questions you might have about our Mentorship Program

Who can apply?

All students interested in product management, regardless of experience, are welcome to apply. Our program is designed to support students at different stages of their PM journey. For the Intro Track, we prioritize freshmen and sophomores as they are typically early in their careers, but applications are open to all. The Advanced Track is best suited for sophomores and older students who have a strong industry understanding and are preparing to recruit.

How much interaction do you get with professionals?

You'll be paired with a dedicated mentor - an experienced student or industry professional - who will meet with you regularly to provide personalized guidance. You will meet with them bi-weekly at minimum, and we'll check-in to help maintain consistent engagement. You'll also gain exposure to PM professionals through mentorship events, career panels, Q&A sessions, office tours, drop-in sessions, etc.

How much individual vs. collaborative work is involved?

The mentorship experience is primarily individual, as your mentor will work with you one-on-one to develop your PM skills and career strategy. Beyond one-on-one mentorship, you'll connect with your mentorship cohort through exclusive events and socials hosted by our E-board, giving you opportunities to expand your network and learn from peers.

What do the curriculum and deliverables look like?

Your mentorship experience will be guided by a structured syllabus tailored to your chosen track. This can include resume refinement, interview prep, case studies, portfolio projects, and hands-on PM exercises. Your mentor will help you set goals and track progress, ensuring you gain practical skills that align with your career aspirations. For Advanced Track mentees, professional mentors are available to assist with deliverables, but it's up to the mentee to take the initiative in requesting guidance.

How is Mentorship different from Product Team?

The Mentorship Program is a personalized, flexible experience focused on career growth, networking, and skill development through one-on-one guidance. It's ideal for students looking for structured support in breaking into product management, refining their resumes, and preparing for internships. Unlike Product Team, which is project-driven and cohort-based, Mentorship emphasizes individual development and professional connection.
